How do patients use Concierge mode on a tablet?

To allow patients to complete forms on a device in the practice, you will need to set up Concierge mode.

πŸ“ Please note: This is different from Kiosk mode, which allows patients to complete self check-in on a tablet upon arrival in the practice. Kiosk will be coming very soon but is not yet available πŸ”œ

With Concierge enabled, when a patient comes to the reception desk:

  • Launch the Dentally Portal app from the home screen of your tablet.

  • Verify the patient's identity and then hand the tablet to the patient. Read more about how Concierge mode keeps patient data safe here.

  • Once authenticated, the patient will see any actions they need to complete - this will look the same as if they accessed the Patient Portal at home.

  • The patient's previous answers will be pre-populated if they have done the form before via Portal. They will be able to review and update where needed.

  • After completing all actions, a confirmation message will appear indicating that the patient can hand the device back to your team.

  • The patient can then take a seat and await their appointment.

  • The data the patient has entered will automatically be added to the patient record in Dentally.

πŸ’‘ Top tip: Only patients with appointments scheduled for that day will be able to access and complete available forms on the tablet.

What actions can a patient complete using Concierge?

  • Medical history form

  • NHS FP17 PR (UK NHS practices only πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§)

  • Treatment estimates (only the latest course of treatment will be shown)

  • Missing patient information (such as address, phone number, email address, emergency contact information and acquisition source)

πŸ’‘ Top tip: You can make changes to the forms that the patient could complete on Concierge in the same way you normally do. The questions the patient sees on Concierge will be identical to what they'd see if they completed the form at home.

🚨 Important to note: This is different from Dentally iPad! You can find more information about Dentally iPad here.
