What is Concierge?
When a patient arrives at the practice for their appointment, they can use a tablet to complete any outstanding forms or actions. This is called Concierge mode, and requires you to pair a device.

How do I get access to Concierge?
Depending on your plan*, Concierge is automatically available for Portal users, with no need to enable or turn it on. You just need to pair a device in order to use it. To make use of Concierge:
You will need a device which you can give to patients to complete their forms. This can be Apple or Android.
Once you have a tablet, you must pair the device with your Portal - you must select 'Concierge' under 'Mode' when pairing your device.
In order for Concierge to work, it is essential that your device is set to the correct time. The easiest way to ensure the time is always correct (and to account for any seasonal daylight savings) is to set your device time to automatic in your device's settings. If you need help with this, reach out to Support.
Once set up, keep your Concierge tablet behind your reception desk and only hand to patients who have an appointment that day.

* If your plan is Advanced or Advanced+ (2024), Concierge will be included with your Portal package. If you are on any other plan, you can purchase Concierge as a standalone feature. If you already have the iPad app included in your package, you can upgrade to Concierge at no extra cost.
I'm eligible for Concierge, how do I start using it?
If you've checked whether you're eligible for Concierge, and you have everything you need to get set up:
Navigate to 'Settings', then click 'Practice' and then 'Billing'.
Ensure the 'iPad App' section is turned on. If it isn't, turn it on. If you have previously used the iPad app, or if you are part of the Advanced or Advanced+ plan, this will be on already.
Once it's turned on for your practice, go to the Dentally Portal admin dashboard and log in.
Click on the 'Devices' section in the left-hand toolbar.
If you are a multi-site, you will see an additional step to select which site you want the Concierge device to be linked to. If you are a single-site practice, you will not see this step.
Click 'Pair device' and follow the steps to pair your tablet device.
Once your device is paired, your patients will be able to start completing medical history, forms and other actions when they arrive in the practice!
