How do Portal devices ensure patient confidentiality?

When allowing patients to self-serve in the practice using Concierge, it is essential to ensure their confidential data is protected from other patients.

Here are some of the steps we have taken to ensure patients only see their own confidential data and do not see other patients' details:

  • Only patients with appointments scheduled for that day will be able to access and complete available forms on the tablet.

  • If two patients due for appointments that day happen to have the same date of birth/first initial, they will be prompted to enter their name.

  • When your tablet is paired with Portal, all personal data the patient enters will be sent directly to Dentally, with no need for any data to be shared out loud or written on paper, significantly reducing the chance of a confidentiality breach.

🚨 Important to note: This is different from Dentally iPad! You can find more information about Dentally iPad here.
