How do I send recall messages manually?
To send recall correspondences manually, you will need to:
Ensure recalls are enabled
Make sure your appointment reasons are set up correctly
Set up your 'Recalls' report by applying the filters you need
Once you have completed all of these steps, you can begin sending recalls manually. To do this:
Open the 'Recalls' report in the report section of Dentally.
Tick the checkbox to the left of each patient you want to send a recall communication to - to select the whole page in one go, tick the checkbox at the top of the list. When you tick a patient, the number at the top will go up so you can keep track of how many you have selected.
Click your chosen communication method to the top right of the list. Choose from:
Letter
SMS
Email
In the dropdown that appears, select a message template from the templates you have previously set up, or create a new one.
To create a new template, scroll to the bottom of the dropdown list. You can click 'Create new template', but this will navigate you away to the template settings, so we would recommend creating a new template first before you start sending manual recalls, so you are not navigated away at this stage.
When you have selected a template, you will be prompted with a message checking you want to continue.
If you have selected 'Email' or 'SMS' correspondence and you then click 'OK', the recall correspondence will immediately send (and a green confirmation pop-up will appear in the top right corner to say that the communication type is sending.

If you have selected 'Letter' correspondence and you then click 'OK', a new window will open with the templated email if you don't have Dentally Mail enabled, allowing you to download or print as needed. If you have Dentally Mail enabled, all generated letters will go into the queue to be printed via that method.
Repeat these actions as needed for each page of patients where you want to send a recall communication. You can increase the number of patients on a page by editing the filters.
