πŸ“ Please note: This article explains how to turn on recall automation - for a step-by-step guide on creating a recall workflow once automation is enabled, read our detailed guide here.

How do I turn on recalls?

To enable recalls:

  • In Dentally, go to 'Settings' and then 'Practice'.

  • In the 'Recalls' tab, go to the 'Recall Automation' section.

  • Check the tickbox next to 'Enable automation?' to turn on recall automation.

  • In the 'Daily Dispatch Cap' field, select the maximum number of daily deliveries that will be sent - preventing you from overloading your system or running up an unexpected bill.

  • You can also see your dispatch backlog. If the number of recalls you need to send exceeds the daily limit you have set, the remaining recalls which have not yet sent will be sent the next day, and the number of outstanding recalls will be displayed here.

  • Select the days you wish to send recall communications on, in the 'Communication Delivery Days' field. As recall messages are likely to evoke a response from patients, we recommend sending them on days that the practice is open so that patients can contact you straight away. Recall messages will then only be sent on those days, within working hours.

  • When you have completed all fields, ensure you click 'Save automation options' or your changes will not be saved.

Once you have enabled automated recalls, you will then need to create recall workflows in order for recall communications to begin sending.

πŸ’‘ Top tip: Encourage your patients to pre-book their next routine appointment following completion of treatment, to minimise the requirement for recalls and reduce recall communication costs.
