How do I delete a patient's recall?

You can delete a recall marker for a patient. This will:

  • Remove the recall marker from the patient's record (shown in the 'Recalls' and 'Audit' tabs).

  • Stop the patient from being contacted in any upcoming recall workflows.

  • Stop the patient from being shown in the current 'Recalls' report.

  • - this will remove the recall marker entirely from the patient's record so they won't show in the report or be contacted by automated recall communications, for that recall marker.

  • Allow the patient to be picked up by the 'Recalls' report the next time it is run.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: This is similar to skipping a recall in that both will result in the patient not being contacted - the difference is whether the recall marker stays.

If you skip, the recall marker will remain in their record and they won't be picked up again until their interval date arrives, whereas if you delete, they'll still show as due and will likely be picked up again the following week.

To delete a recall:

  • Go to the 'Recalls' report in Dentally.

  • Select the patient(s) you wish to skip by ticking the box to the left of their name.

  • Click 'More' in the top right corner.

  • Select 'Delete recalls'.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: To remove someone from recalls completely, so that they will not be picked up at all, simply remove their recall date/interval.
