πŸ’‘ Top tip: The 'Tasks' feature is different from task reminders in Portal.

How do I view my practice's task list?

Dentally's 'Tasks' feature allows you to create, assign and keep track of your and your team's tasks. To access your practice's task list:

  • In Dentally, click the list icon in the left-hand toolbar, representing 'Tasks'.

  • You will see all tasks currently created, with (if applicable):

    • Task name

    • Task status (tick β˜‘οΈ)

    • Details of patient the task relates to

    • Team member the task is assigned to

    • Due date

    • Notes (indicated by the speech bubble πŸ’¬ icon next to the task name)

    • 'Details' button

  • If you click the 'Details' button on the far right of a task, a side panel will open with full details of the task, including any notes. This is also where you can edit the task details if needed.

There are a number of other actions you can take from within the task side panel:

  • Call - Clicking the phone πŸ“ž icon will allow you to call the patient linked to the task, directly from Dentally. Choose the number you wish to call, and click 'Call from browser'. You will need patient calling enabled.

  • Duplicate - Click the double square icon to duplicate the task.

  • Follow-up - Click the up ‴️ arrow to create a follow-up task.

  • Close - Click the right β‡₯ arrow to close the side panel.

  • You can use filters to adjust your view:

    • 'Location' - Only visible for multi-sites.

    • 'Due after'/'Due before' - The date range for when tasks are due.

    • 'Assigned to' - The team member assigned to the task.

    • 'Completed' - Whether the task is still outstanding, or if it has been marked as complete.

    • 'Display subtasks' - Choose whether to display only the main task.

  • If you change the 'Completed' filter to 'Yes', you will then be presented with further filters - 'Completed by' and 'Completed after/before'.

πŸ’‘ Top tip: When a task is linked to a specific patient, the task will be visible under the 'Tasks' tab in the patient's record.

Where will I get notifications about tasks?

  • When another user assigns a task to you, a notification will appear in your 'Notifications' window under the bell πŸ”” icon in the top right corner of Dentally.

  • If you have a task assigned to you which has a due date within 24 hours from now, a red number will appear on the 'Tasks' icon in the left-hand toolbar.

  • If a patient has a task associated with them, with a due date within 24 hours from now, a notification counter will show on the 'Tasks' tab in the patient record, and the details of the task will be visible within the 'Tasks' tab.
