What are notifications in Dentally?
Desktop notifications alert you when a patient arrives to the surgery, as well as informing you of other updates such when an appointment is created.
These are displayed in the top right corner of Dentally. A pop-up message will appear on screen with an alert sound. To view your notifications:
In the top right corner of Dentally, you will see the bell ๐ icon with a number in red next to it (indicating the number of unread notifications).
If you click the bell, a list will appear underneath with your recent notifications.
You can use the buttons at the bottom to mark the notifications as read, or to view all your notifications.
Click the bell again to close the notification window.
How do I enable desktop notifications?
To turn on notifications:
Click your name in the top right corner of Dentally to open the dropdown.
Click 'Enable desktop notifications'.
You may see a pop-up on your browser, asking you to give permission to allow the notifications. If this happens, click 'Allow'.
You will then see a pop-up in the top right corner, confirming that your notifications are enabled.
๐ก Top tip: If you don't wish to have audible sound when you receive notifications, it is possible to turn this off. In Chrome, right click the tab where you are using Dentally, and click 'Mute Site'.
If you encounter issues when enabling notifications, such as an error message stating permission for notifications was denied, this indicates that your browser is blocking the notifications. In this instance:
Head to this section in your browser.
Find 'Notifications' in the list.
In the dropdown next to it, change the selection to 'Allow'.
If you are unable to change this, you should contact your own IT support for help.
