Global updates ๐ŸŒŽ

๐Ÿ†• New: Dentally Vision v172 is here

The latest Dentally Vision update includes CAD/CAM integration with iTero via a software bridge, allowing CAD/CAM scans to be acquired and viewed directly within imaging. View the full release notes for v172.

๐Ÿ†• New: Record specialisms and special interests

Practitioners will be able to record:

  • Certified specialisms โ€“ formally recognised dental specialties

  • Special interests โ€“ areas you regularly treat or have advanced experience in

Specialisms and special interests rolling out slowly, so if you can't see it yet, you will over the coming months. It provides more accurate recording of referrals, and will also be beneficial for upcoming referral enhancements!

๐ŸŒŸ Improved: Short notice filler logic

We've adjusted the logic in the short notice filler, to ensure more patients can be contacted.

Previously, some patients who hadn't actually received an SMS would be blocked from being contacted for other slots. Now, if you start an automation and then stop it before the whole list has been contacted, any patients in the list that weren't contacted will now be available immediately for other slots - ensuring you don't miss opportunities.

๐ŸŒŸ Improved: Zoning enhancements

We've made a number of improvements to zones.

  • The location filter, which adjusts the list of practitioners and rooms underneath (as opposed to being a setting for the zone itself), has been renamed to 'Filter practitioners by location' (or 'Filter practitioners and rooms by location' if applicable), to more clearly explain that it is a filter and not a setting for the zone.

  • If you are a multi-site, when you create a new zone, the location filter will default to your current location, rather than any other.

  • The 'Zone group' field now appears higher up, for a more logical flow.

๐ŸŒŸ Improved: Non-clinical notes edit accuracy

We've made it easier and more intuitive to edit and save non-clinical notes, ensuring only intentional edits are saved, and audit history is more accurate. You will now see:

  • A more intuitive edit ๐Ÿ“ icon (in place of the previous โ„น๏ธ icon) - you can still edit the text directly, but click the edit icon to open the colour menu.

  • A 'Cancel' button if you make any changes - whether it's adjusting the text or opening the colour menu and selecting the colour, you can click 'Cancel' to undo the changes, or click 'Save' to confirm them.

This ensures any changes made are intentional, so you won't be forced to click 'Save' - at any point you can undo the changes, and you can trust that the audit history is accurate and any changes saved were intentional.

๐ŸŒŸ Improved: AI notes security

We've made security enhancements to clinical AI notes, for a better and more reliable user experience.

UK/ROI updates ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

๐Ÿ†• New: Easy digital patient check-in with Kiosk

Patients can now check in digitally upon arrival at your practice - significantly reducing the manual admin required to confirm their arrival!

With Dentally Portal and a Kiosk-enabled mounted device, patients can check in digitally and will be triaged automatically, so only those with further action will need to speak to your reception team (eg. to complete forms, or if they are late/don't have an appointment today).

Kiosk is currently only optimised for practices with single waiting rooms, using correctly configured, mounted devices - look out for more information coming very soon ๐Ÿ‘€

Youโ€™ll need to be an Essentials or Pro user. If you can't see Kiosk yet, you will do soon!

๐Ÿ†• New: Appliance fee adjustment for Scottish NHS practices

In accordance with NHS Scotland guidance, certain appliances ('Upper or Lower Fixed Multiband or Multibracket Appliance') will no longer be paid for if they are made but not fitted. We've reflected this in Dentally, so if you create a discontinued claim for these items, it will correctly show ยฃ0 as the expected fee.

AU updates ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ

๐Ÿ†• New: Family claiming is here!

You can now submit a single electronic claim for an entire family, even if treatments were done by different practitioners.

  • Select all the invoices you want to claim across the family, and submit in one go

  • Track the claimโ€™s progress live, with an improved, smoother design

  • Quickly fix any failed claims without having to redo the successful ones

Family claiming reduces delays and makes claiming faster for both you and your patients.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: Use the new health fund provider field in the 'Details' tab to include this essential detail when claiming, and ensure family members are linked to make use of this feature.
