What is the best setup for using Kiosk?

First, consider which device is right for you:

  • We recommend an Apple or Android device to run the Kiosk app. Your chosen device must be updated to the latest Apple iOS or Android version - if you are on any version other than the most recent, we cannot guarantee that Kiosk will work.

  • Use Google Chrome or Safari browsers to download the Kiosk app. Your chosen browser must be updated to the latest version, otherwise we cannot guarantee it will work with Kiosk. Other browsers are not officially supported, and we would not recommend devices which do not allow Google Chrome or Safari, such as Amazon Fire tablets.

  • In order for Kiosk to work, it is essential that your device is set to the correct time. To ensure the time is always correct, and to account for any seasonal/regional time adjustments such as daylight savings, set your device time to automatic in your device's settings.

  • We recommend your device:

    • Has auto-lock off

    • Has brightness up to the maximum

    • Is wired in for continuous charging

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: Once you have selected a device, you will need to pair it in order for patients to use it.

Next, consider the right stand or mount for your practice:

The type of stand you choose is down to personal preference, based on your practice's size and needs.

  • For most practices we recommend a floor stand that is positioned near the entrance. This ensures it is the first thing your patients see when they walk in, and reduces the number of people walking up to speak to reception.

    • Durable, Maclocks, Bosstab and Bouncepad offer universal floor stands, which can be sourced from a number of retailers.

    • If your practice is smaller, or space is limited, you may prefer a wall mount.

  • For larger practices with a high footfall, you may benefit from large touch screen devices, and you could consider multiple check-in kiosks.

  • We recommend ensuring the device in the stand can easily connect to a power source, to keep it constantly wired in for continuous charging.

  • Remember, Kiosk is only optimised for single waiting rooms.

๐Ÿšจ Important: Once set up, ensure your device:

  • Has auto-lock off

  • Has brightness up to the maximum

  • Is wired in for continuous charging
