Dentally Vision ๐ฉป
๐ Improved: Cloud gallery can now open full screen
You can now open the cloud gallery in full screen by clicking the full screen arrow โ๏ธ icon in the top right of the gallery. The full screen will open in a different tab. If you switch patients or close the original tab, the new full screen tab will automatically close.
๐ Bug fix: In some cases, treatments were not charted correctly if the user selected 'Acquire another' after opening an image using the image icon next to a treatment item. This has now been resolved.
๐ Bug fix: In some cases, the exam viewer in Dentally Vision wasnโt opening correctly and displayed the setup screen instead. This has now been resolved.

๐ New: Digital GP17 Beta trial has arrived for Scotland! ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
For Scottish practices, we're excited to announce that we now offer fully digital NHS-accredited GP17 forms through Dentally Portal's Concierge. This will significantly save time, reduce paperwork and improve patient arrivals and departures. Find out more about GP17 here.
This is currently in Beta testing, so if you canโt see it now you will do soon. Want to join the trial? Send a message via Support Chat!
๐ Improved: Concierge actions
We've now limited Concierge to only show the actions required for the patient's appointment for that day. If the patient has other actions for a future appointment, these will still appear in their Portal but won't appear when they log into Concierge. This is to reduce the time a patient spends completing information at the reception desk, benefiting both them and your team.
๐ Improved: Patient recall booking action
Previously, new patients who cancelled their first appointment were sometimes being shown an action asking to book a recall. We've now improved this so that booking a recall will only be shown if the patient did attend their first appointment, to avoid confusion.
๐ Bug fix: In some instances, patients who entered an incorrect password when logging into Dentally Portal were being redirected to a different page, causing confusion and making it harder for the patient to re-enter another password. This has been fixed.

๐ Coming soon: Condensed mixed dentition
We have added the ability to view mixed dentition on a condensed view in the chart, making it easier and quicker to chart child patients. This tool works in combination with other charting preferences such as condensed charting, root view and predictive dentition.
๐ New: Easier arrivals/departures with the visit panel
Introducing the new visit panel โ a better way to view todayโs appointments, check patients in and complete actions. Transform your reception workflows, save time and prioritise your patientsโ experience.
A single window, accessible anywhere in Dentally:
Check if the patient has multiple appointments today.
View and verify their details and update missing info.
Identify which actions need completing before or after their appointment.
Book their next recall appointment.
Easily spot which actions can be completed via Concierge, if you have it.
This works seamlessly with Dentally Portalโs Concierge to provide a smooth arrivals/departures experience for you and your patients. Find out more about the new visit panel here!
๐ Improved: Plaque and bleeding score accuracy
Following a tooth status migration, plaque and bleeding scores for Perio exams performed before tooth status was available may have previously included missing teeth. We made an improvement to exclude missing teeth from the legacy score values to ensure greater accuracy when charting.
๐ Bug fix: There was a discrepancy where the appointment time shown on hover was in 24h format, even if you had selected 12h format in your site settings. This has been resolved, and the time format will be the same throughout Dentally, in line with your format choice.
๐ Bug fix: Previously, in the case of linked family accounts with a shared email address, incoming emails were being assigned to the person alphabetically listed first in the family list. This has now been fixed so that the emails are assigned to the correct person, regardless of the family list.
๐ Bug fix: The waiting list audit log was incorrectly attributing changes to the person that created the list entry, not the user who completed the change. This has now been resolved to reflect the user who made the change.
๐ Bug fix: The clinical history side panel wasn't storing the point users reached when scrolling if the user navigated to/from the โChartโ tab. The sidebar will now store the scroll location when navigating through any tab in the patients record, so when you return to it you can pick up where you left off.
๐ Bug fix: An issue was identified where users couldn't edit their personal clinical note templates. This has been resolved.
๐ Bug fix: We have fixed an issue where an error was occurring when renaming a Perio chart.
๐ Bug fix: Previously, it was hard to see the 'New Treatment plan template' window as it was cut off and you couldn't scroll to click โSaveโ. This has now been fixed and adjusts to page size.

๐ New: Tax credit exemption changes in NHS Scotland
Following on from the change we made in NHS England and Wales to remove the tax credit exemption, this is now also being removed in NHS Scotland too. The tax credit exemption is no longer valid for treatment plans started after 5th April 2025 - so if you start a plan after this date, or change the start date, we'll remove the exemption automatically. Patients won't automatically get a new exemption in place of the tax credit one. Find out more here.
๐ Improved: HSC (NI) claim submission
For HSC (Northern Ireland) claims, we've added extra validation to ensure that a claim type is included when submitting your claim, and we've removed the 'N/A' option, as using it will now result in an error in the HSC portal.
๐ Improved: NHS Wales' CCN75 support
When submitting the first claim for a new patient, practitioners will see an additional drop-down called โReferred Patientโ. 'N/Aโ is the default option, but you can use this to indicate if the patient was referred through the Dental Access Portal (DAP) scheme either as a regular or emergency appointment.
If a referred DAP patient fails to attend, NHS Wales is requesting that clinicians submit a claim without treatment to report that the appointment was wasted. This is achieved in Dentally by charting a new treatment item: 'Patient referred for urgent treatment - patient failed to attend', and submitting a claim as normal, where we'll auto-fill several fields for you. Find out more here.
๐ Improved: NHS England band charges automatically set from 1st April
NHS England has set the new patient charges and we've automatically updated Dentally to show them from 1st April. You don't need to do anything - patients will be charged the correct amount from April. Find out more here.
๐ Bug fix: For NHS England/Wales, in some circumstances a patient's NHS number was not being automatically stored against the patient record. We've cleared the issue and NHS numbers will now be stored correctly.

๐ Bug fix: The address fields 'State' and 'Suburb' had been changed to 'town' and 'county' in error. They have now been changed back to 'State' and 'Suburb'.

๐ Bug fix: We identified an issue where insurances responses were being cut off, making it difficult to confidently follow up with patients and insurers. We have resolved this, ensuring that you have all the relevant information needed to understand how a claim was handled and any next steps required.
๐ Bug fix: Weโve resolved an issue where insurance responses were being cut off and made unreadable. All details are now visible.
๐ Bug fix: We have fixed an issue where dual coverage claim printout responses did not display the primary and secondary insurance carriers in the correct order. Previously, both printouts always showed the primary insurance carrier at the top and the secondary at the bottom, regardless of the claim type. Now, the printouts display correctly:
Primary claim printout: The primary insurance carrier appears at the top, and the secondary at the bottom.
Secondary claim printout: The secondary insurance carrier appears at the top, and the primary at the bottom.
