How do I enable single sign-on for my practice?
Before being able to use SSO at your practice you MUST make sure this is enabled in your Practice Settings.
๐ก Top Tip - If you cannot see the below settings you will need to reach out to the support team so we can enable SSO in the background for your practice. Once this is done you can resume the steps in this guide.
Go to 'Settings'.
Navigate to 'Practice' and 'Other'.
Scroll down to the 'Single Sign-on' (SSO) section.
Choose Microsoft or Google from the list and click 'Save'.

Not sure what single sign-on is? Take a moment to read our help article here.
๐ Please Note - When this is first turned on, it will enable SSO for all existing users. You will need to remember to enable this for any new users in their own 'User Settings' going forward.
Enabling single sign-on for a new user
You can either do this is at the point of creating your new user, or you can navigate back to the user edit screen to enable this.
Go to 'Settings' > 'Users'.
Then, click the edit button next to the user
Change the SSO drop-down to Enabled and click 'Save'.
After enabling this, you MUST click 'Sign via SSO' on the Dentally login screen to be able to login to Dentally going forward. See our dedicated article here for further assistance on logging in.
Single sign-on isn't working
An incorrect email address is the most common reason for single sign-on (SSO) to fail. For this to work you MUST have created your Dentally account using the same email address as your Microsoft or Google account.
If you have created your Dentally account with any other email, this won't work. Please reset the email address associated with your Dentally account from 'User Settings' and try again.
If you are still encountering issues, please reach out to Ellie Bot and our team via support chat in Dentally.
