How do I add a break to a practitioner's calendar?
There are two ways to add breaks to the diary.
๐ Please note: These methods remove the need to book 'fake' recurring appointments to block out the calendar, and ensures availability is reflected accurately in your reporting.
If the break will occur regularly, use schedules.
First you will need to follow the steps to open an existing schedule or create a new one.
From here, click the '_ breaks โ๏ธ' button to the right of the chosen day.
Click '+ Add break'.
Enter the start and end times. You can also add a name to label it.
When you are finished, click 'Save'. Whenever the schedule applies, the practitioner will show as unavailable during these breaks.
If the break is a one-off or last-minute change, use the override feature.
Once the calendar override appears, click '+ Add break'.
Enter a name to label the break, and choose the start and end time of the break.
You can also use the override feature to edit an existing break.
When you are finished, click 'Save'. Once applied, the practitioner will show as unavailable during these breaks, which will only apply on the chosen day.
You can even use the override feature to edit scheduled breaks too! But remember:
Any changes you make within the calendar override will only affect breaks on the chosen day. To make permanent changes, you will need to edit the original schedule.
You can only change the time of a scheduled break - unlike one-off breaks, you can't edit the name of a scheduled break. To do this, you will need to edit the original schedule.
