Here are a few things you can try if you are having issues with the Imaging bridge...

Running Google Chrome as Admin

For the Imaging bridge to operate properly on windows machines, Google Chrome needs to be running as an admin. To test if Chrome is running as Administrator you can:

  • Close Chrome down.

  • Right-click on the 'Google Chrome' icon.

  • Right-click again on 'Google Chrome' in the pop-up menu.

  • Select 'Properties'.

  • Navigate to the 'Compatibility' tab, Tick the 'Run this program as an administrator' box and click 'Apply' and 'OK'

  • Reopen Google Chrome as normal. If Prompted with a UAC User Account warning - click 'Yes' to proceed

  • Log into Dentally and launch the Bridge from a patient.

If you are still experience issues try the other troubleshooting steps below, if relevant, before reaching out to our Support team.

Trouble Installing ๐Ÿ”’

Check permissions

Do you have permission to install software on the machine?

Installing the Dentally imaging bridge software requires administrator rights for your computer.

To check for administrator privileges:

  • Navigate to the following directory C:\program files\ in file explorer.

  • If there is NO folder named Dentally Imaging, then the current Windows user DOES NOT have sufficient privileges to install the software.

  • Please contact your system administrator or IT support to resolve this issue.

Check your Imaging Bridge Settings

Are your settings correct?

Check you have specified the correct paths in the Dentally chrome Extension options.

To check your settings:

  • Right-click on the 'Dentally Imaging Bridge' extension icon on Chrome.

  • Click on 'Options'.

  • Choose your desired third-party imaging software from the drop-down list.

  • Set your ID field, Software path and Storage location path as needed.

  • Click 'Save'.

๐Ÿ’กTop Tip: Make sure the path includes the final backslash e.g. C:\program files\image software\

Wrong patient opening ๐Ÿ‘ค

Check your images and reset Bridge ID

This is most likely down to the incorrect patient ID being used. You can view our full guide on how to check your images and clear the bridge ID to prompt the system to open a new folder for the patient instead.

Dentally Imaging Bridge and DBSwin

DBSwin is not opening?

DBSwin MUST be opened manually before using the chrome imaging bridge tooth icon.

It's important to note that the bridge DOES NOT open DBSWin, but merely passes the patient information through.
