What payment terminal providers can integrate with Dentally?

Dentally offers integrated payments with both HICAPS and Tyro.

πŸ“ Please note: The payment process is the same across these providers; however, the integration must be established before initiating direct payments to the terminal from Dentally. Please contact our Dentally Support Team to assist with the setup.

Setting the card terminal provider in Dentally

Once our Dentally Support team has established your integration, you will need to ensure your card terminal provider setting is configured in Dentally.

  • Go to 'Settings' and 'Sites'.

  • Select the relevant site (if you have more than one).

  • Navigate to 'Payments'.

  • Click on the down arrow and select either 'Tyro' or 'HICAPS'.

  • Then, click Save.

Now you are ready to process electronic payments! πŸŽ‰

How to process an electronic payment

Electronic payments can be processed using Credit, Debit, Eftpos and American Express payment methods.

Once you have integrated payments turned on within your system, there will be two options to process the applicable payment types:

  • Process eftpos / credit card / debit card / American Express - Dentally will communicate with the terminal to send the payment information needed. The terminal will display a prompt for the user to insert / swipe / save their payment card and enter their PIN (if necessary). The result of the transaction will be recorded in Dentally. The Dentally user does not need to interact with the terminal.

  • Record payment - This will manually record the transaction in Dentally. You will still need to use your payment terminal to take the payment from the patient.
