How to take a payment with my integrated card machine

Taking payments through an integrated terminal is super simple as it follows the same workflow you are already used to.

  • Navigate to your patient's 'Accounts' tab.

  • Choose the normal 'Take Payment' button.

  • Enter amount 'To pay' and select your payment method.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: Electronic payments in Dentally can be made using various methods such as Credit, Debit, Eftpos, and American Express.

After entering your payment amount and choosing your method, you'll find two options available when processing payments:

  • Process *insert name of payment method*

    (In the below example we can see 'Process eftpos')

  • Record payment.

Process Payment

Choosing the option to Process the payment will establish a direct connection between Dentally and your terminal.

The payment amount will be sent straight to the terminal of your choice, If you have multiple terminals you will be prompted to selected your terminal after this step.

Once selected, the card machine will prompt the patient to insert, swipe, or enter their PIN. The result of the transaction will be recorded directly in Dentally upon completion of the transaction.

๐Ÿš€Top Tip - It's important to note that as a Dentally user with an integrated terminal, you won't need to manually interact with the terminal as you would with a manual payment.

Record payment

This option allows you to record the transaction within Dentally manually.

However, keep in mind that you will still need to engage with the terminal to input the fee amount and complete the payment process with the patient if a card payment is needed.

๐Ÿšจ Important: If you cannot see these two options, it means your payment terminals are NOT connected to Dentally.
