What does an existing patient see when they sign a treatment estimate online?

When a patient needs to review and sign a treatment plan estimate online in advance of their appointment:

  • Patients will need to access Portal via your unique Portal URL, and log in using their own details.

  • They should select the 'I'm an existing patient' option.

  • They will be asked for their name and date of birth to log in.

  • They will be sent a code to their mobile phone as part of the two-factor authentication process. They enter the six-digit code and are then taken to the home screen of Dentally Portal.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: Two-factor authentication texts sent to patients may incur a charge for your practice.

  • If they any estimates to sign, they will see a task reminder asking them to do so. Alternatively they can select the 'Treatment Plans' section.

  • The patient should open any treatment plans that need signing, and read the content.

    • They will see a separate price breakdown per appointment for that treatment.

    • The estimate number and date are displayed at the top.

    • 'Terms' and 'Payment Terms' are split into distinct separate sections.

  • When they have read through the details, they should click 'Sign'.

  • A signature box will appear allowing them to type or draw a signature.

  • They can then click 'Sign' again, and the action will be complete.

Patients can view estimates for both open and closed treatment plans from the past 5 years.

Once signed, you can view the signed estimate in the 'Correspondence' tab of that patient's record.
