📝 Please note: This article relates to editing a practitioner in the UK/Canada. For editing a practitioner in Australia, please read this article.
You need to set up a new user in Dentally and then add a new Practitioner if that is appropriate for them. It is a 2-stage process. If you need help with Adding a New User, the first step, we have a web page to help.
To add a new practitioner use the following steps:
Navigate to Settings
Select ‘Users’
Select the Practitioners tab
Click ‘Create New Practitioner’
Fill the required information into the pop-up box:
Select the user
The Colour they will use on the calendar
NHS number
GDC number
Performer number
Performer
PIN
Calendar
Position
Active
Please note that Foundation Dentists will need to have a new practitioner profile created if they are going to continue practising as an associate at the same Dental Practice.
💡 Top tip: Before you set a practitioner as 'Inactive', ensure you have moved all of their booked appointments to a different practitioner's calendar - if you don't, the appointments will still exist but will not be visible in the calendar, so it is easiest to move them beforehand to ensure they are visible.
How to make changes to a practitioner's profile (Including Calendar Position, Colours, and adding NHS details):
Settings>Users>Practitioners Tab>Edit Button
Step by step...
Click settings in the bottom left of dentally.
Then choose Users
Then choose practitioners from the top tabs
click the edit button next to the dentist that needs editing.
You can then make changes as needed to the practitioner.
Can I edit a practitioner's name in the calendar?
You can edit the name of a practitioner by heading to the user settings ('Settings' > 'Users'), clicking the 'Practitioners' tab and changing their name there. This will update their name in the calendar. Level 4 permissions are required.
