๐จ Important - This article contains NEW features which are still rolling out across all of our practices. So don't worry, if you can't see these options right now you will soon ๐
Go to the 'Reports' and select 'Radiograph Audit'.
Using radiograph reports will vary depending on whether you are a Dentally Vision user. If you are not, scroll down to the "Chart Images" section.
Running the Radiograph Audit
On the 'Radiograph Audit Report' page, head to 'Filters' and set each field as explained below:
Location: For multi sites, make sure you select the correct location. This will default to the location you're logged in at. If there is only one site, then this field wont show. "All" is also available as an option if you have permission to access all sites in a multisite practice.
Source: If you are a Dentally Vision user set this to 'Dentally Vision', if you use a third part software via the bridge or import your images set this to 'Chart Images'
๐ Please note - If you use Dentally Vision, the radiograph report uses data from the Dentally Vision grading functionality, which you can read more about here.
From/Until: Select the date range you want to run the report on.
Grade:
Select 'Any' for a full report on all grades.
Select 'Ungraded' for any images that have not been graded.
Select 'Acceptable (A)' to report on images with an 'Acceptable (A)' grade.
Select 'Not acceptable (N)' for images that have a 'Not Acceptable (N)' grade.
Justification: Filter by any Justification reason
Status: Filter by images that are Active or Archived. Active images are any images currently visible in the patient file.
Provider: Filter by any Provider within the site.
Uploaded by: This is the person within the site (could be the provider or the DI practitioner) that uploaded the images
Once you have filled in all fields, the report will automatically update based on the filter selection.
The report will indicate the percentages graded as 'Acceptable' and 'Not Acceptable' against the 95% target in a bar graph. The green bar indicates 'Acceptable' grades, the red bar indicates 'Unacceptable' grades and dark grey indicates any images that are 'Ungraded'.
Running the radiograph audit for Chart images
To use the audit report you MUST grade your images. This is done by uploading them into Dentally under the 'Images' tab on the patient's chart screen and adding in the relevant grading options and details if needed.
When images are uploaded, the new grading options are shown as below:
In the example below, the results include radiographs graded with the previous gradings of 1 and 2, counting towards the 95% result of acceptable:
Understanding your report

Justification: is displayed as it was selected at the time the image was taken.
Grade: is the grade selected for that image.
Rejected Image Note: is displayed as it was entered at the time the image was taken.
Taken By: is the practitioner who took the image.
Developed by: is the practitioner who developed the image.
View Exam: opens the image in the exam that the image was taken in.
๐ Please note: Previously, radiographs could be graded with Grade 1, Grade 2 or Grade 3 (or left ungraded) and the radiograph audit report showed these graded entries and the percentages graded against the guideline percentages advised. Read more about reporting on the old grading system here. Any previously graded radiographs will retain the grading applied to them.
How do I report on my old grading options?
Where the reported range contains radiographs graded using the previous options of Grades 1, 2 & 3.
Grade 1 or Grade 2 are considered as 'Acceptable' and therefore will be considered as part of the percentage counting towards the 95% target.
Grade 3 will be considered part of the percentage counting towards the 'Not Acceptable' total.
If the date range of the report contains radiographs using the previous grading options, the numbers of these radiographs will be highlighted specifically, alongside those graded 'Acceptable' or 'Not Acceptable'.
๐ก Top Tip: Where a radiograph was previously uploaded with a grading of 1, 2 or 3, editing the radiograph will allow you to adjust the grade to the new options of A or N, or retain the original grading.
