Dentally Vision allows you to grade each image in an exam as Acceptable (A) or Not Acceptable (N).

You can apply an exam-level justification during acquisition, and adjust the justification per image afterwards.

Set a justification before acquisition

  1. Select the procedure.

  2. At the top of the screen, select Justification.

  3. Choose a justification from the dropdown list.

    • This justification will apply to all images in the exam by default.

  4. Select Start to begin the acquisition workflow.

Begin the acquisition flow by selecting Proceed with Acquisition as per the standard process.

Accessing image grading

After completing acquisition:

  1. Open the Image Navigator.

  2. Select the Grading tab.

    • Each image in the exam has its own individual grade.

Default behaviour: Every new image is automatically graded Acceptable (A), shown by a green A icon in the image header.

Marking an image as 'Acceptable'

To review or confirm an 'Acceptable' grade:

  1. Select the image in the Image Navigator.

  2. Ensure the Grade dropdown is set to Acceptable (A).

  3. Review the Justification (inherited from the exam).

  4. Update the justification if necessary.

๐Ÿ’ก Top Tip - If the justification isnโ€™t editable, confirm that the exam is not locked or finalised.

Mark an image as 'Not Acceptable'

To grade an image as Not Acceptable:

  1. Select the image.

  2. Open the Grade dropdown.

  3. Choose Not Acceptable (N).

  4. A Rejected Image Note field will appear - enter the reason for rejection.

  5. The image header icon will turn into a red N.

Required: A justification/reason must be entered when grading an image as Not

Grading images through the retake workflow

If an image is not acceptable and must be replaced:

  1. Select the image to retake.

  2. Click the 'Retake' button.

  3. Complete the acquisition flow to capture the new image.

  4. After acquisition, choose which image to keep:

    • Keep New

    • Keep Old

How Dentally Vision handles the grades:

  • The image you do not keep will automatically be graded Not Acceptable (N).

  • You will be prompted to add a Rejected Image Note.

Optional: Delete the rejected image

  • Tick Delete rejected image before choosing Keep New or Keep Old.

๐Ÿ“ Please Note - If you cannot retake, ensure you are selecting the image first, as the button only appears for individual images. When an image is not acceptable and needs to be recaptured, select the Retake button on Dentally Vision.
