What happens in Dentally when a patient books online via Dentally Portal?
When a patient starts a booking online, their selected slot will be held in the calendar with a grey block until either they complete the booking, or the booking reservation expires.
When a patient completes a booking online, it will appear automatically in your calendar, in the patient's record and in the daylist. When you hover over it, it includes a label noting that it was booked online.
You can report on appointments booked online - using the 'Appointments' report to see how many patients are booking online via the 'Booked Online' filter, or via your the Portal admin dashboard.
You can also view details of a patient's Dentally Portal activity in their audit log.
If a deposit payment or full payment has been made via online booking, it will show as an unallocated payment in the 'Account' tab of the patient record.
Payments and deposits taken via online booking can also be viewed in bulk via the 'Takings' (UK/AU) and 'Collections' (CA) reports.
If a patient cancels an appointment that was booked online, it will automatically disappear from the calendar and the patient record. Any deposits or payments made for that appointment will remain in their account unless you take manual action.
