How do I set up the 3Shape Unite bridge?

The 3Shape Unite software bridge lets you connect your 3Shape Unite software to Dentally Vision, so you can acquire CAD/CAM scans from a 3Shape scanner directly within a patient's exam. Use this guide to pair your 3Shape account and get the bridge ready to use.

๐Ÿšจ Important: This integration is currently only supported on Windows machines and is not supported on Macintosh devices.

Before you begin:

  • You'll need an active 3Shape account and your login credentials to hand before you begin.

  • Install the acquisition agent on every computer that will use the 3Shape Unite software bridge.

  • Make sure all your acquisition devices are already working correctly in the 3Shape Unite software on that computer.

  • Click the 'Acquisition Agent' icon in your system tray and select 'Preferences'.

  • On the 'General' tab, click '3Shape Settings'.

  • In the '3Shape Settings' dialog box, click 'Log In'.

  • Enter the email address associated with your 3Shape account, then click 'Next'.

  • Enter the password associated with your 3Shape account, then click 'Sign In'.

  • Click 'Done' to close the 3Shape Settings dialog box.

  • Click 'Done' to close the Preferences dialog box.

Once paired, the 3Shape Unite bridge is ready to use. You only need to complete this setup once per computer.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: If it's been over an hour since you last logged in to your 3Shape account, you'll need to log in again before you can acquire scans successfully.

How do I acquire a scan using the 3Shape Unite bridge?

  • Open the 3Shape Unite software and log in.

  • Open the patient's exam in Dentally and select the 'CAD/CAM Scan' imaging procedure.

  • On the 'Available Devices' menu, select '3Shape'.

  • Click 'Start'.

  • In 3Shape Unite, click the 'Open Patient' pop-up box.

Acquire the images you need in the 3Shape Unite software. Once you finish scanning, the images appear in Dentally Vision automatically.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: 3Shape doesn't currently send bite (buccal) scans back to Dentally Vision.

  • Assign the scanned images to the correct slot, then click 'Begin Uploading'.

Once uploaded, the images are saved to the patient's exam in Dentally Vision.

Troubleshooting 3Shape software bridge:

  • If the bridge stops working, check that your 3Shape settings are correct in the acquisition agent preferences and that you ares till logged into 3Shape.

  • For any issues with a device not working in the 3Shape Unite software, contact 3Shape support this isn't something Dentally support can resolve directly.
