Written by Hebe Lowen

How do I flag a medical issue on a patient's record so my team are aware?

When a patient completes their medical history, a red heart will appear next to the entry in the 'Medical' tab of the patient record, if one of their answers indicates they have a medical issue.

You can also set a medical alert if you wish, to flag the medical issue at the top of the patient record. This appears at the top of the patient record, visible in all tabs.

How do I set up a medical alert for a patient?

  • In the patient record, go to the 'Medical' tab.

  • Clicking 'Toggle special needs icon' will add an amber dot ๐ŸŸ  at the top of the patient record, next to their name.

  • Clicking 'Toggle alert' will add a red heart โค๏ธ at the top of the patient record, next to their name, indicating that their medical history contains a medical issue to be aware of.

  • With 'Toggle alert' enabled, a dropdown arrow will then appear next to it, allowing you to create a manual alert, if you require more detail than just the red heart.

Click the down arrow, select 'Set alert text', and enter the wording you need. This will place a worded alert by the patientโ€™s name in a red box.
