How do I book an unbooked appointment?
๐ก Top tip: When booking a continuing treatment for a patient, it's important to ensure you book any unbooked appointment to ensure the clinicians notes will carry over to it - rather than creating a new appointment from scratch, which will be missing the key info the clinician has provided.
When an unbooked appointment has been created by the clinician, there are two ways to book an unbooked appointment.
From the 'Appointments' tab:
Identify the relevant unbooked appointment in the 'Appointments' tab.
Check the notes, and booking interval (currently in Beta testing), if applicable before proceeding. If either are present, ensure these are reflected in the slot you choose when booking.
Click the 'Add to clipboard' button - all the details of the appointment will be copied, and you can then proceed to book it in the calendar via the clipboard as you normally would.
From the calendar:
When booking a new appointment by clicking a slot in the calendar, select the patient as normal.
In the dropdown below the name field, it will tell you whether the patient has unbooked appointments waiting to be booked.
Click the dropdown and select the relevant unbooked appointment.
This will populate all the fields with any info provided by the clinician (eg. duration and practitioner). If the patient has any notes indicated, these will also appear here.
Complete the booking as you normally would, and click save.
Once an unbooked appointment has been booked in the calendar, it will move from the 'Unbooked appointments' list to the 'Booked appointments' list in the 'Appointments' tab.
