How do I make a practitioner inactive?

πŸ’‘ Top tip: Making a provider inactive will remove their column from your appointment calendar. Therefore we recommend ensuring any appointments that practitioner has booked are moved to a different practitioner's column before making them inactive.

Before you set a practitioner as 'Inactive', ensure you have moved all of their booked appointments to a different practitioner's calendar - if you don't, the appointments will still exist but will not be visible in the calendar.

It is recommended that you move the appointments to a different practitioner first, but if you have already set them as 'Inactive', simply make them 'Active' again and move the appointments before repeating the steps below to make them inactive.

To make a practitioner inactive and remove their column from your diary:

  • Go to 'Settings' and 'Users'.

  • Go to the 'Practitioners' and 'Edit' πŸ“ the desired practitioner.

  • Change the active drop down to 'No' πŸ‘‡

πŸ“ Please note: The layout of the practitioner screen will vary depending on your practice region.

If you also wish to remove their access to your Dentally account or if the user you wish to make inactive is not a practitioner follow the steps here.

πŸ’‘ Top tip: If you wish to keep the practitioner as active but hide them from the calendar, use the eye πŸ‘οΈ icon at the top of the calendar to hide the practitioner's calendar from view.
