๐ Please note - Creating prescriptions for Australian users is slightly different and the following guide here should be followed instead.
Using prescription templates in Dentally
Create prescription templates that clinicians can quickly generate for patients during appointments. Once generated, prescriptions are stored in the patientโs correspondence record with a timestamp for easy reference.
Creating a prescription template
Practice administrators can create reusable prescription templates in Settings.
Go to 'Settings'
Navigate to 'Templates' -> 'Prescriptions'
Click '+ New Template'
Choose to start from an existing template if required.
Enter a recognisable template name so clinicians can easily find it later
Ass a salutation if needed.
Add the prescription content, including any merge fields required (for example patient or clinician details)
Click 'Save'
Your prescription template will now be available for clinicians to generate when needed.
Generating a prescription for a patient
Once a template has been created, clinicians can generate prescriptions directly from the patient record.
Open the patient record
Go to the 'Correspondence' tab
Click 'Create correspondence' and choose 'New Prescription'
Select the appropriate prescription template and proceed through the workflow using the 'Next' buttons.
Choose an address and proceed using 'Next'.
Review the information in he final step and add any patient-specific details if required.
Click 'Save'.
The prescription will now be created and will open up automatically. It will be auto saved in the patientโs 'Correspondence' history with the date and time of generation.
The prescription itself is editable until you print the letter. The printed date will then be updated in correspondence and the prescription will no longer be editable.
