How do I amend treatment plan details?

Once you have created a treatment plan and added treatments, their default price and duration for the patient’s registered fee schedule will be added to the treatment line.

To amend the details of a treatment plan (for Canadian users):

  • Go to the 'Chart' tab in the patient record, and find (or create) the chosen treatment plan.

  • Click the dropdown arrow to the left of the date on the relevant treatment plan.

  • The window will expand and you will be able to see more details about the treatment plan.

  • To edit the price or duration, enter the amount in the 'Price' or 'Duration' fields.

  • You can also see and amend other fields including 'Practitioner' (compulsory), 'Referrer' and 'Payment plan'.

  • You can add any notes or labs to the treatment plan as well. To add template notes, in the 'Notes' field, click the '+' button on the far right off the notes toolbar and choose from your templates.

How do I edit the settings of my treatment plan?

To amend the settings of a treatment plan:

  • Go to the 'Chart' tab in the patient record and find the chosen treatment plan.

  • Select the dropdown arrow next to the treatment plan and choose 'Settings'.

the dropdown arrow next to a treatment plan tab with the Settings option highlighted
  • The 'Treatment Plan Settings' window will appear. From here you can edit:

    • Nickname

    • Payment plan

    • Start/End date

    • Practitioner

the Treatment Plan Settings window with all four fields visible
  • Make your changes and click 'Save'.

When you set or change the payment plan here, it will apply to all treatment items currently on the plan - and any new items added afterwards will automatically use the same payment plan.

This means you can quickly switch an entire treatment plan between fee schedules, for example when offering a patient both an insurance and a private treatment option across separate treatment plans.

💡 Top tip: To offer a patient multiple treatment options under different fee schedules, clone the plan first, then update the payment plan in the settings of each treatment plan.
