๐Ÿšจ This feature is currently still rolling out across Dentally sites so you may not see this option just yet ๐Ÿšจ

You can set a custom colour for all treatments charted in the Base chart tab.

This helps you quickly distinguish:

  • Existing treatments recorded in the base chart

  • Newly completed or planned treatments

Using a unique colour makes it easier to understand a patientโ€™s history at a glance, without needing to review notes or dig through charting history. Plus, it works both with or without condensed mode on.

How to set a base chart colour

  1. Go to 'Settings' and 'Practice'

  2. Select the 'Other' tab

  3. Scroll down and enable 'Override base chart treatment colours'

  4. Choose your preferred colour

  5. Select 'Save'

๐Ÿšจ Important: Please note the following about this feature

  • The setting is practiceโ€‘level

  • Once enabled, it applies to all sites in the practice

  • Colour changes also apply to all users

How override base chart colours work

  • The selected colour in your practice settings applies only to Base chart items

  • Treatment plan items are not affected

  • Completed treatments still display as completed

  • If a treatment is marked as incomplete, it will return to the normal uncompleted treatment colour set when condensed mode is enabled

Base chart colour and uncompleted treatment colour are separate settings and work independently
