๐ New: Digital GP17 forms now available in Scotland ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ณ๓ ฃ๓ ด๓ ฟ
We're excited to announce that we now offer NHS-accredited fully digital GP17 forms through Dentally Portal's Concierge. This will significantly save time, reduce paperwork and improve patient arrivals and departures. This is available immediately to practices who already have Concierge, and all other practices can upgrade to Concierge in order to benefit from it. Find out more about how to access digital GP17 forms here.
๐ New: FP17PR updates for NHS England & Wales
We've update our FP17 forms to the latest version provided by the NHS for England and Wales. This will now appear in all Portal touch points for NHS practices, and a PDF copy will be uploaded to Dentally, visible from the โNHSโ and 'Correspondenceโ tabs in the patient record.
๐ Improved: 12h clock format for CA and AU ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐บ
Users in Australia and Canada will now see online appointment booking times displayed in 12h format for patients, instead of 24h format. This provides a more familiar and intuitive experience for Canadian and Australian patients, improving the appointment booking experience.
๐ Improved: Re-signing medical history forms
Patients can now re-sign a medical history form if they make a mistake. You can now invalidate a medical history form in Dentally, and it will then prompt the patient to sign it again within the Portal.

๐ Improved: Renaming treatment plans is now simpler
We have added a new dropdown menu to treatment plans so you can easily rename them, alongside the other familiar treatment plan actions such as 'Reorder' and 'Clone'. We have also made the treatment plan name more visible by adding it to the clinical history and the 'Unbooked Treatment' reports.
๐ Improved: Stored custom field data in clinical history
Previously, when custom field dropdown options were edited, any saved values using the original options would no longer display in clinical history records.
With this update, stored custom field data will always remain visible in clinical history records, even after dropdown options have been modified. This enhancement is retroactive and applies to all historical data. This ensures that historical clinical records maintain their integrity and are easily accessible and accurate at all times.
๐ Improved: Improved empty state for clinical sidebar
The clinical history sidebar will now display messages to indicate when it is loading or empty, to make it easier to distinguish when the patient has no clinical history.
๐ Improved: Dentally Vision tooth peek within socket selection
We have adjusted the tooth peek to make it easier to select the socket menu. Tooth peek will now appear as part of your socket selection menu for a cleaner charting experience.
๐ Bug fix: A bug was identified where you couldn't select some areas of the socket menu when a treatment was selected, especially if there was clinical history on the tooth. This has been resolved.
๐ Bug fix: We have fixed an issue where some treatments were not showing on the chart if a reset was created before the treatment was completed. We now take the completion date of the treatment as the latest reference point for displaying it on the chart.
๐ Bug fix: Some treatment plans were not showing correctly in the 'Unbooked Treatment' report when the filter was set to 'No future appointments'. The report will now have up-to-date appointment information at all times.
๐ Bug fix: We fixed an issue where, if you cloned a Perio exam, the readings from the original extracted tooth would show on the cloned version, without a way to delete them. Now when you clone an exam with extracted teeth, the previous values are removed.

๐ Improved: Search for patients by NHS number
Search for a patient by typing their NHS number in the patient search bar at the top of the page. Simply type a % symbol, followed by the number, to be able to find the patient. This will make it easier to find patients and prevent duplication/identity confusion.
๐ Improved: Multisite claims in UDA reporting
If you are a multisite, and if you submit NHS England/Wales claims under a contract that belongs to a site other than the site where you're based, these claims can now be found on the 'NHS UDAs' report. This report now includes an 'Other contracts' option, allowing you to easily identify claims.
๐ Bug fix: We have fixed an issue where practices that previously used R4 may have seen teeth which had been historically marked as present ("erupted") now showing as missing. We have backfilled all instances where this was an issue.

๐ Improved: Identify payments allocated to notes
The 'Payments' tab in a patient's account screen now indicates if a payment has been allocated (in part or in full) to a note. Additionally, you can filter payments by whether they were allocated to an invoice or a note.
We also now show the amount unallocated against each payment, and have improved the language to use 'Allocate' instead of 'Explain' throughout the patient's account screen for better understandability.
๐ Improved: Reduced chance of insurance plan duplicates
We've made it easier to spot duplicates when adding and managing your insurance plans. If an insurance plan has the same carrier and group/plan number as an existing plan, you will now see a warning flagging this, allowing you to review each plan in detail. If all existing similar plans are valid, we recommend using a plan identifier to distinguish them easily. This review process will allow you to avoid accidental duplicates, making it easier to manage and use your plans.
๐ Improved: Claim reversal now supported in โEmployer formโ state
You can now reverse claims even when they are in the โEmployer Formโ state - enabling you to update policy or claim details and resubmit when the insurance carrier sends a form requiring employer involvement. Previously, this was not possible, limiting flexibility.
๐ Improved: Discard action restricted to relevant claim statuses
The โDiscardโ option in the claim management tool is now only available for claims with specific statuses: Rejected/Error, Manually reversed, Reversed, Manual/Submit manual, and Unknown. This reduces the risk of accidentally discarding claims that are still processing or already paid - actions which could previously disrupt reconciliation and tracking.
๐ Improved: Faster amount editing during reconciliation
Previously, when the 'Amount' field was pre-filled with the expected insurance amount, you had to manually delete the value before entering a new one. This added extra clicks and could lead to mistakes - especially when moving quickly through bulk reconciliation. Now, clicking the field automatically highlights the entire value, making it quicker and easier to type over.
๐ Improved: Description hover display
Descriptions that appear when you hover in side panels will now show when the text is cut off. This removes unnecessary duplication and visual clutter when full treatment or insurance carrier names are already visible.
๐ Improved: Plan number searches
Searching for plan numbers now works even when zeros at the start are omitted - for example, โ00087687โ would still be displayed if you searched โ87687โ. This makes the plan search more intuitive, reflecting how you typically enter data.
๐ Bug Fix: Previously, rejection messages appeared in French if no patient language was set. We've updated the logic to default to English, unless French is explicitly selected.
๐ Bug Fix: Some rejection responses for PBC claims were not being shown. This has now been resolved, and responses are displayed correctly.
๐ Bug Fix: We fixed a rounding issue where insurance payments added during reconciliation were being sent to the PMS with slightly higher values than entered - for example, $514.3199999999999 appearing as $514.32. Claim totals are now calculated and sent with proper decimal precision, reducing confusion.
