How do I mark a patient as DNA/FTA?

Marking a patient as 'Did not attend' (DNA)/'Failure to attend' (FTA) happens automatically in Dentally.

You do not have to update the appointment manually to show the patient didn't attend. If the patient is never marked as having arrived in the practice, Dentally will automatically mark the appointment as โ€˜Did Not Attendโ€™ at the end of the day of the appointment (BST). At that point you can then raise an invoice if needed.

You can still mark a DNA manually if you wish:

  • Find the appointment in your diary.

  • Right click on it.

  • Select 'Did not attend' from the menu that appears.

If you wish to add notes to provide context for the DNA, you can edit the appointment (by double clicking it in the calendar, or by finding it in the patient's 'Appointments' tab and clicking the edit icon). You can then manually change the status, and add any notes as needed.
