Occasionally a practitioner is required to re-register patients with the NHS where it is not possible to treat the patient.

Traditionally, in order to be able to submit an NHS claim in Northern Ireland, the appropriate NHS treatment codes must be charted and completed on a treatment plan, resulting in a Dentist fee and an appropriate patient charge.

Where the patient is to be re-registered without any work being carried out, you must chart a 'Re-Registration' treatment. This can be found in your usual treatment list while creating a treatment plan and has the code 'Re-Reg'.

This treatment will not raise a dentist fee or patient charge.

The treatment can be marked as complete, then using the Submit Claim option, an NHS Claim can be raised.
