It is now possible to manually reconcile a claim from the patient's NHS Claims area. This is typically required when an NHS claim has been contested with the BSO. When a contest is successful, a supplementary amount is due to be paid from BSO NI.
However, this additional amount is not received by the practice on a schedule, which means that the claim in Dentally will never reflect the true amount of Dentist Fee and Patient charge allocated by BSO NI. Using this reconcile feature, you are able to adjust the values due for the claim and mark as Complete.
How do you manually reconcile a claim?
The Dentist Fee and Patient Charge can be manually overridden - this will automatically mark the claim as Complete and update the amounts requested in the same way as settling a 'Queried' claim.
Only users who opted in to 'User change the status of a claim' as a sub-section of 'User can submit NHS claims' in user settings are capable of performing this action.
Only claims of Status 'Received', 'Invalid' 'Queried' and 'Complete' can have this action performed against them.
How to...
Go to the patient's NHS Claims tab.
Find the claim in question.
It must be in the right status to be manually reconciled. Refer to the status above if needed.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the claim status.
Select Manually Reconcile.
Update the Dentist Fee and Patient Fee as needed.
Once updated, click Reconcile.
When a claim is manually reconciled, a tooltip is available when hovering over the claim so you can easily see which ones have been edited.

Manually Reconciled Claims
Manually Reconciled claims are indicated with the presence of a tick when viewed on the NHS Claims report and in the Patient's NHS Claims tab. Hovering over this tab will display information on the manual reconciliation details.
The NHS Claims report can be adjusted to show manually reconciled claims specifically, using the filter below.
By default, the report will show all claims. Using the filter, manually reconciled claims only can be displayed or claims which have not been manually adjusted.
