How to add an attachment to an email

When you have followed the steps to compose a new email, there are multiple ways to add attachments:

Attach via drag and drop

For files saved outside of Dentally you can locate the file on your desktop and drag and drop your file into the bottom of the email draft window, where it says 'Drag files here to attach'

Attach via upload a file

Click the 'choose files' button in the bottom left area of the email window, locate your files in the explorer that opens and select the file you wish to attach.

See below the supported files types that you can attach within Dentally:

  • .png

  • .jpeg

  • .jpg

  • .gif

  • .doc

  • .docx

  • .pages

  • .rtf

  • .odt

  • .xls

  • .xlsx

  • .csv

  • .tsv

  • .zip

  • .pdf

  • .ppt

  • .pptx

Attach images via Dentally Vision

๐Ÿšจ This feature is currently in beta and therefore may not be available for your practice ๐Ÿšจ

When composing an email, you can attach images directly from Dentally Vision.

  1. In the email composer, go to the attachments section at the bottom of the editor

  2. Click on 'Select Dentally Vision images'

  3. You can filter images using an acquisition date range to find the correct image

  4. Select the images you wish to attach - this can be multiple.

  5. The click 'Attach images'

The selected images will be added to your email.

  • Attaching Dentally Vision images may automatically save your email as a draft

  • Vision images may be displayed separately from other attachments for clarity

  • You can use 'Load more images' if additional image results are available

Limitations with email attachments

  • Files can only be attached to new correspondence emails

  • It is not possible to add images or other files to an email template

  • You cannot forward an email with its original attachments
