Navigating NHS reports is important for managing claims effectively and ensuring timely payments. Two primary tools available in Dentally are the NHS UDA/UOA Report and the NHS Claims Report.

NHS UDA Report

The NHS UDA (Units of Dental Activity) Report provides a high-level overview of NHS claims submitted under your NHS contract(s). It tracks the total UDAs for submitted NHS claims per practitioner based on the treatment plan completion date and on the current status of the claim.

Key Features:

  • Tracks claims by treatment plan completion date.

  • Organises claims based on their statuses (Completed, Pending, Error/Invalid, Queried) and individual practitioners.

How to Use:

  1. Access the report via Reports > Financial > NHS UDAs

  2. Set filters to refine the view:

    • Location (if applicable).

    • Date range (start and end dates).

    • Activity type (Can be set as UDA or UOA as needed).

    • NHS Contract (select specific contract if needed).

  3. Drill down into specific claim statuses by clicking on the corresponding bar in the chart.

  4. To return to the main view, click the Back to UDAs/UOAs button.

Claim Statuses Explained:

  • Completed: Claims marked as paid; they will appear on the next monthly schedule.

  • Pending: Claims submitted but awaiting a response (usually processed the next working day).

  • Error/Invalid: Claims with issues that require correction. These need to be resolved using the NHS Claims Report.

  • Queried: Claims where the UDAs awarded differ from those claimed. Address these via the NHS Claims Report.

💡 Top tip - Use this report to evaluate performance and ensure practitioners meet their NHS targets.
