Adding a Free Repair/Free Replacement

If an NHS dental patient requires a free repair or free replacement within 12 months of the last procedure, click the required treatment once it has been added to their chart and change the status of the repair.

To do this:

  • Go to the Treatment on the Treatment Plan

  • Expand the notes area

  • Scroll down to the bottom of the screen

  • Click ‘Free Repair’

  • Select ‘Yes’ from the drop-down list

  • Click ‘Save’

The Free Repair option will only be visible if the treatment is marked as having been carried out as NHS treatment.

NHS Claim UDA Value

The NHS Claim will still carry the UDA value for the treatment, but no patient charge will be raised for the treatment marked as a Free Repair. The treatment will be marked with ‘Yes’ under Free Repair column when the Claim is submitted.

Free Repair as Continuation of Treatment

If you need to mark a free repair as a continuation of treatment,

  • Click on the Treatment plan settings (the cog at the bottom of the screen)

  • Check the Continuation? box to mark this as a continuation of treatment

  • Save

  • Submit the claim as normal
