How to withdraw my NHS claim

If you need to remove a claim entirely and not receive the UDA value, the claim needs to be withdrawn. This action should only be used if the claim was raised entirely in error.

If you sent the claim in the last hour - you can change the status to cancel in the patients 'NHS' tab.

If the claim has already been sent to the NHS and received, the cancel status will not be available, in this scenario you will need to follow these steps to withdraw your claim:

  • Go to patients chart screen and click on 'History' tab.

  • Find an item on the plan youโ€™d like to resubmit and click on the TP icon to see the entire treatment plan.

  • Click on 'Re-open treatment plan' in the bottom right.

  • Click on the 'Submit' button and you will then see the 'Withdraw Claim' option.

  • Click this button and the claim will be resubmitted to the NHS with a marker requesting that the claim is withdrawn from your contract.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: You can never resubmit a withdrawn claim, withdrawing a claim will remove it from the NHSBSA's records entirely.

If you realise you need to send the claim through to the NHSBSA after withdrawing you will need to create and submit this under a new treatment plan.

What happens to the patients fees when I withdraw their claim

If an invoice was raised for a claim that was withdrawn this invoice will remain on the patients record. You can then choose and action what happens with the patients fee. We will outline both scenarios below:

Remove fees for incomplete work

  • Navigate to the patients account screen and delete the associated invoice using the 'Delete' ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ bin icon.

  • If the treatment plan has also been marked as complete, re-open the plan and untick any items which were not carried out.

  • We recommended closing off the treatment plan using the 'Complete treatment plan' button to ensure a record of the notes and the incomplete treatment is kept against the patients history.

Waive fees for work done

  • Navigate to the patients account screen and delete the associated invoice using the 'Delete' ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ bin icon.

  • If you have to re-open the plan at all, wether thats to add notes or to send the claim as a withdrawal, Make sure any work that was carried out is ticked as complete.

  • We recommended closing off the treatment plan again using the 'Complete treatment plan' button to ensure a record of the notes and the treatment is kept against the patients history.
