How do I save and grade an x-ray in EXAMINE Pro?

After capturing an image, EXAMINE Pro will prompt you to save the x-ray upon exiting the acquisition screen. At this stage, you can assign:

  • User (who captured the image)

  • Grade (image quality for audit purposes)

  • Image Type (eg. bitewing, periapical)

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: If the intended user is not listed, they may not yet be configured within EXAMINE Pro. Configure your users by following this guide here.

Use the dropdown menus to select the appropriate value for each field.

This same window also allows you to enter the radiation dosage for the x-ray.

  • If dosage details are not manually entered, EXAMINE Pro will apply the default values.

  • The software remembers the last-entered dosage settings, using them as the new default for future images.

๐Ÿ’กTop tip: This information can be included in reports and is important for compliance and clinical auditing.

How do I edit properties on an existing image in EXAMINE Pro?

You can update grading, user or dosage information on an x-ray that has already been saved:

  • Open EXAMINE Pro from the Dentally bridge on the desired patient.

  • Locate the image thumbnail in the Image Library.

  • Right-click and select 'Image Properties'.

  • The properties window will open, allowing you to adjust the details as needed.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: If the grading options are incomplete or incorrect, they may need to be configured within your EXpro settings. Follow our guide on how to do this here.
