How do I set up multiple imaging devices to use with EXAMINE Pro?

It is not unusual for a practice to have multiple imaging devices they wish to use in EXAMINE Pro simultaneously - in this case you can set up multiple acquisition buttons using macros, so you can have a separate button for each device.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: This process is for EXAMine Pro Version 8. It's the same process for Version 6 but the icons are different.

  • Start by going to 'Options' โ†’ 'Macro's'.

  • mceclip0.png
  • You will then see the 'Macros' menu. To create a new macro, click the 'Add' button on the right.

    mceclip1.png
  • Start by giving the macro a name - generally it is best to just use the device/brand you are creating the macro for.

  • Ensure you tick 'Create button' option, so that a new button is created. Click 'Select image' to choose an image that will be displayed on the button - you can choose many different manufacturers. Manufacturers' icons are not available in Version 6.

  • Once you have selected the image you wish to use, save your macro by clicking 'Save'.

  • Now you will need to record the steps you wish the macro to carry out.

    • Select the macro you wish to record on the left.

    • Click the record button (the red circle).

      mceclip5.png
    • You will see an info box pop up telling you to press 'Ctrl' + 'F12' to stop recording - click 'OK'.

      mceclip6.png
    • Once you are recording, select the module you wish the macro to load by going to 'Options' โ†’ 'X-ray Acquisition'.

      mceclip7.png
    • Once you have select the correct module press the acquisition button.

    • Once the acquisition screen loads, press 'Ctrl' + 'F12' to end the recording.

    • The macro will now be recorded successfully.

  • You then need to set the acquisition button back to the device it was originally set to, otherwise you won't be able to use both devices.

  • You can repeat this process to create as many macros as required for each device the user requires.
