What tasks do I need to complete prior to month-end?

In order to stay on top of your finances, and prepare for month-end tasks, there are a number of housekeeping tasks you should ensure you have completed before the end of the month.

πŸ’‘ Top tip: Doing these actions as you go (on a daily or weekly basis) will make this step much easier! You can use the same steps as you would follow there.

Prior to month-end, ensure you have:

  1. Reconciled all insurance payments received for the month (you can use the same steps as you'd use in this guide)

  2. Check all payments were allocated correctly using the 'Collections' report and filter by the month date range and 'Unexplained' (you can use the same steps as you'd use in this guide)

  3. Ensure all payments were allocated correctly to their providers. You can see a snapshot in the 'Payment Allocation Totals' report.

  4. Review the practitioners' production to make sure everything was charged through using the 'Practitioner Allocations' report. If your practitioners have been doing this daily/weekly, then this should be accurate (you can use the same steps as you'd use in this guide).

  5. Complete any write-offs for the month.
