Can I prevent a patient from booking appointments?

It is possible to prevent a patient from booking appointments, while still keeping all the patient's details on file. An example of where this might be useful is if you have a patient with an extremely high failure-to-attend rate.

To restrict appointment booking for a patient:

  • In the patient's record, go to the 'Appointments' tab.

  • In the top right corner you will see the 'Prevent Appointment Booking' button.

  • If you click this button, the 'Create an Appointment' button will disappear, and an 'Enable Appointment Booking' button will be visible.

  • When appointment booking is prevented, you will also no longer be able to see the 'Add to clipboard' button to the right of any unbooked appointments.

    • With appointment booking enabled:
