What is socket selection?

Socket selection can be used by clicking on a tooth and selecting the correct tooth status or diagnosis from the drop down menu. Using this during the base charting process allows you to quickly update the status of a tooth or a diagnosis.

How do I use socket selection?

  • Navigate to the desired patients chart.

  • Hover around a root or the grey line above or below a tooth if root view is disabled.

  • Click on this area and you will be presented with drop down list of available tooth statuses and diagnosis.

  • From here you can choose the required tooth status or diagnosis from the socket selection drop down list.

  • This dropdown will also show the current status of that permanent tooth, indicated by a tick against the status.

  • Once you select a new status or diagnosis the tooth icon on the graphical chart will change accordingly.

๐Ÿ’ก Top Tip: Updating the status of teeth using this method can be carried out alongside the normal base charting or even while treatment planning!
