What is socket selection
Socket selection can be used during the base charting process to allow you to quickly update the status of a tooth.
For example: Socket selection is best used when initially base charting a patient's permanent dentition, or when updating the status of a patient's dentition on a subsequent visit.
🚨Important: This is only available to users with root view enabled.
How to use socket selection
Navigate to the desired patients chart and make sure you have root view enabled.
Hover over a root. You will see the root is now selectable and will display a shaded area while hovering over the socket.
Right mouse click on this area and you will be presented with drop down list of available tooth statuses.
From here you can choose the required tooth status from the socket selection drop down list.
This dropdown will also show the current status of that permanent tooth, indicated by a tick against the status.
Once you select a new status the tooth icon on the graphical chart will change accordingly.
💡 Top Tip: Updating the status of teeth using this method can be carried out alongside the normal base charting or even while treatment planning!
