How do I include a link in my email template?

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: If you add a video link to an email and send it, Dentally may not allow you to view the video link within Dentally. However, you can right-click and open it in a new tab, and it will open. This does not affect the patient's ability to open the link on their end.

  • Go to 'Settings' and then 'Templates'.

  • Open an existing template, or create a new one.

  • To embed the link within the text, highlight the word(s) you want to link to within the email body, and click the 'Link' ๐Ÿ”— button in the toolbar at the top of the 'Body' box.

  • Then click 'Insert Link'.

  • Paste the URL you want to link to in the 'URL' section.

  • Choose whether you want the web page to open in a new tab when the patient clicks it (we recommend checking this box for the best patient experience).

  • Then click 'Insert'. The word(s) you highlighted will now be hyperlinked, so when the patient receives the email they can click the link to go to the web page.

๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: Why is it beneficial to embed the link, rather than just pasting the URL in the email body? Embedding is neater, more professional and easier to read, making your patients more likely to engage with what you're trying to tell them.
