Using templates for prescriptions in Dentally...

There is not a dedicated prescription feature in Dentally however, the use of letter templates in Dentally is super versatile and can be used for creating prescriptions. Lets take a look at how you can set these up for use across your practice.

To create a prescription template

  • Go to Settings > Templates > Letters

  • Click on + New Template

  • Give it a recognisable name so it's easy to find later

  • Enter the required information, including merge fields as needed and click save

To use the prescription template

  • Go to the Correspondence tab on the patient's record

  • Click on new correspondence and choose new letter

  • Select the template we created and click next step

  • Choose the recipient and click next step

  • You can then compose your letter including adding any information specific to the patient when you are happy click next step

  • Lastly, you can choose your posting options. In the case of a prescription, you will want to set this to print and send yourself.

  • Then click save

  • This will open up the pdf for you to print or email straight to the patient.

  • This will be saved automatically to the patient's correspondence tab for you to reference in the future if needed.
