We appreciate that not all clinicians work the same way. The Perio exam in Dentally can be configured to work the way you do.
The sequence of how the exams are viewed and recorded can be changed to suit the sequence of how you record the information during an exam. Settings are saved per user, so once you have your ideal workflow set, it will be remembered each time you perform an exam - or if a different workflow is required for specific exams, these can be changed from the Exam screen, so quick changes can be made more easily.
Adjusting theWorkflow Settings:
Access to the Perio exam settings is via the Settings option to the top right of the exam.
Exam Sequence changes:
Arch Sequence: The order of how the Buccal, Palatal and Lingual sides of the arches are displayed and recorded can be changed here. To change the sequence of the arches and their sides, click and drag the option for each into the desired sequence, click 'Done' once finished.
Right/Left Direction Order: If you wish to change the sequence of moving from left to right or right to left on each side of each arch, use the 'Switch' option to choose. For example, when moving from the the Upper Buccal to the Upper Palatal, if you prefer to work from right to left, then from right to left, the cursor will automatically move the side of the arch required and follow the direction of your choice when the entries are recorded.
Manual/Auto Progression:
With automatic progression enabled (default), the cursor will move to the next pocket position once an entry is recorded by typing a number. Double digit readings are recorded by pressing the 'D' key on the keyboard before entering the digits, then the cursor will move on.
When manual progression is selected, movement to the next pocket for input is performed manually by pressing the Tab or cursor key. Pressing Tab will follow the direction set in the setting above. Pressing 'Shift-Tab' will move backwards. Because progression using this setting is manual, double digit readings can be recorded without the need to use the 'd' key.
