๐Ÿ’ก Top tip: If you edit/delete a treatment item, any previous charting of this item is unaffected, meaning it does not overwrite/remove what was charted previously in your records.

How do I edit a treatment item?

Edit treatment items in the same area where you would add a new treatment item.

  • Go to 'Settings' and 'Treatments & Plans'.

  • Search for the item you wish to edit.

  • After selecting the item in question, you will see the item's settings appear.

  • Make adjustments to each section as you would for a new treatment item. Some common changes:

    • To adjust the price of a treatment item, go to the 'Pricing' tab, where you can adjust the fee. This will only affect the price of the item when charted going forward.

    • To adjust the length of a treatment item, navigate to the 'Times' tab. Adjust the length of the item as needed - this will only affect the length when charted going forward.

  • Click 'Save' once finished.

๐Ÿ’ก Top Tip - You can set up multiple surface pricing for items that may require this by ticking the 'Multiple' box on the 'Pricing' tab. For example, this Composite Filling item has various prices configured for the number of surfaces for only one of the payment plans.

How do I lock the price of a treatment item?

If you are a level 4 user and wish to disable the ability for other users to change the price of treatment items on the chart you can use the 'Prevent price change' option. To enable price lock against a treatment code:

  • Go to 'Settings' and 'Treatments & Plans'

  • Search for the item you wish to edit.

  • In the 'Details' tab, tick the 'Prevent price change' checkbox to stop users being able to adjust the treatment item value.

  • Click 'Save' to apply your changes.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: When making changes, you may need to refresh Dentally for other users who are already logged in to see the change.
