Dentally's Online Appointment Booking allows your patients to book and cancel appointments at their convenience, 24/7, from a single button on your website.

If you also sign up for Patient Portal as part of the Dentally Portal feature, your patients can also edit their Medical History forms, update their contact details, and pay the balance on their accounts without having to spend time in the practice.

Booking an appointment online as a NEW patient

Patients can use Online Appointment Booking from a button on your website or from a link sent in your correspondence.

Booking options are offered depending on whether you have been set up in your manage app as a new or an existing patient appointment.

New patient booking process continued...

Patients will then be asked what type of appointment you wish to book in for.

In this example, we have chosen 'Consultation'. This then presents us with all the different consultation appointments available at this location.

In the scenario where there are both NHS and private options to choose from, it will clearly label any NHS appointments with the NHS logo, as shown below.

Once we have chosen our desired consultation from the list, you will be shown the description of the appointment and given the option to 'Select & continue'.

You will then be able to choose which practitioner you are to be seen by, or leave this as 'Any practitioner' to search all available calendar space. Click 'Select & continue' once you are ready.

This will present you with a list of available appointments for you to choose from.

After choosing a suitable day and time, you will be shown a preview of the appointment with the length, provider and location listed.

If required, you will be presented with the option to make the deposit payment either by Google Pay/Apple Pay or by Card.

After making this payment, you will be prompted to create an account where you can set up your own password to access your oral health forms, appointment information and so much more, for further convenience and ease of use.

If you choose not to create an account, this will not affect the appointment you have paid for and will instead be redirected next time to create an account after authenticating your email address and phone number.

๐Ÿ“ Please note: Portal requires a valid mobile number to verify when a patient is logging in. This adds an extra level of security for patient data. It is not possible to use a landline instead.

When you send unique Portal links to your patients, you will NOT need to log in to complete medical history forms. This will connect you straight to your own patient record.

Booking a new patient appointment at a multisite practice

There is one additional step for users wishing to book an appointment at a multisite practice. After choosing to book as a new patient, prospective customers will be asked to choose which site you wish to book their appointment with.

The Practice now sees...

โœ… A new patient record created

โœ… A new patient appointment is created

โœ… The appointment is shown in the appointment tab as 'Booked Online'

โœ… Deposit payments (if taken) are shown in the patient's account tab
