Can I change the details of a payment that has already been taken?

Sometimes it will be necessary to change the details of payment, such as the method of a payment, or the transaction number. You can do so on the same day as the payment was taken, if you have the correct permissions.

  • Find the payment in your list.

  • Click the three dot menu on the right, and select 'Edit payment'.

  • From here, you can edit the payment method and the transaction number. The amount and date are displayed for reference, but cannot be edited.

The steps above only work for editing the payment method or transaction number. If you need to change any details other than the method/transaction number, you will need to redo the payment.

  • Firstly the original payment needs to be removed.ย 

  • You will then need to take the payment again as normal, with the correct details.

  • Once the payment has been recorded again, you will need to allocate the payment to any invoices in the usual way.
