Can I store scanned documents in a patient's record?

If you have printed correspondences or information which you wish to save to a patient record, you can scan and upload it in their 'Correspondence' tab. This ensures you have a copy in the cloud.

  • Scan your document on your computer as you normally would. Keep the file size low unless high res is required.

  • Save to your computer.

  • Navigate to the 'Correspondence' tab in the patient record.

  • Click 'New Correspondence' and select 'Upload document'.

  • Click to upload or drag and drop the file into the grey box. You can upload multiple files at once.

  • Add details of the document for reference.

  • You can click 'View' next to any uploaded document to open it, from where you can download, print or delete as needed.

  • PDFs and images will show a preview. If you have uploaded a Word document, this cannot be previewed within Dentally - you will need to download and open it on your computer to view the preview.
