Can I link patients as family members?
You can link existing patients as a family, or choose an existing patient and add a new patient who is in their family. You can link together as many family members as you like and unlink them if required.
When patients are linked as family members, you are able to book a family appointmen.
How do I link two patients as family members?
To add a patient to a family, also known as linking a patient to another patient:
In the patient record of one of the family members, go to the 'Details' tab and find the 'Family' section.
Click the ๐ link button on the left.
In the box that appears, start to type in the the patient you want to link. You can search by name, mobile number or date of birth.
Click the name from the dropdown that appears.
The patient you have selected will now be linked to the patient whose record you are in, making them family in Dentally. This will display in the 'Details' tab for all patients in that family.
The patient's name will also include their age, and the 'Unlink' button. You can add as many family members as you like, and they will all appear together here.
๐ก Top tip: If you click the name of a patient in the 'Family' section, you will be taken straight to their patient record, and if you hover over the name of a patient in this section, their patient details will be shown in the top right corner of the screen.
How do I unlink family members?
If you need to remove a patient from a family:
Go to the patient record of any patient in that family.
Under 'Details', go to the 'Family' section.
Identify the name of the patient you want to unlink, and click the 'Unlink' button next to their name (it looks like a link ๐ with a line through it).
This will remove that patient from the family, meaning the patient whose record you are in, and all other patients in the family, will no longer be linked to that patient.
