Can I edit charged treatment

You cannot edit a treatment whilst it is charged or complete. Instead you will need to unlock, resubmit, and untick your treatments so they can be edited or deleted as needed. This is a four step process:

  1. Remove the invoice from the accounts tab.

  2. Untick the treatment on the treatment plan.

  3. Make your changes as required.

  4. Tick as complete and charge back through.

To complete this process you must be logged into Dentally as a Level 4 user, an administrator user, or a user with the correct permissions enabled.

How to edit charged treatment

1. Remove the invoice

  • Navigate to the patient's account tab

  • Click the bin icon to the right of the invoice

🚨Important: Invoices that are locked CANNOT be deleted! If the invoice in question has a padlock next to it you will need to follow the instruction here to re-open and unlock the invoice first.

2. Untick the treatment on the treatment plan

  • Once the invoice has been removed, click into the patients 'Chart' screen.

  • Locate the items on the chart and untick the tick box on the right of the treatment item.

3. Make your changes

Once unticked, the treatment can then be edited, deleted, re ordered as required.

4. Charging your treatment back through

Once the treatment is correct,Β the invoice can be recreated by charging the treatment back through from the 'Charge treatment' button on at the bottom of your chart screen.

If you need to re-create the invoice for a date for a specific date, remember to use the Set Charge Date option under the arrow next to 'Charge treatment'.

Lastly, navigate back to the patient's 'Account' tab and explain any invoices back to the payments as needed.
